Taylor Swift Toy Story Song Shocks Fans
Taylor Swift has officially confirmed that she is joining the world of Toy Story. After days of online rumors and fan theories, the global music star announced a brand-new original song for Toy Story 5.
The song is called I Knew It, I Knew You. It will be released on June 5. Fans can also preorder special CD singles through Swift's official website.
The announcement quickly became one of the biggest entertainment stories of the week. Many fans had already guessed that Swift was involved with the upcoming film after several mysterious clues appeared in major cities.
Large billboards showed the initials "TS" in the famous Toy Story style. The signs appeared in Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Toronto, Mexico City, and London. The unusual campaign sparked widespread discussion across social media.
Swift ended the speculation on June 1. She shared the news through a message on Instagram after a Toy Story-themed countdown on her website reached zero.
The singer said she had always dreamed of writing music for the beloved movie franchise. She explained that she has loved the Toy Story characters since she was a young child.
According to Swift, she had the chance to see an early version of Toy Story 5. The experience inspired her to write the song almost immediately.
She said the story specially connected with her. After watching the film, she returned home and began working on the music.
The new single was written with Jack Antonoff, one of Swift's longtime collaborators. The pair have worked together on many successful projects over the years.
The song also marks a return to Swift's country music roots. Reports indicate that the track was inspired by Jessie, the energetic cowgirl character who has been a fan favorite since her introduction to the Toy Story series.
Film director Andrew Stanton praised Swift's contribution to the project. He said the singer quickly understood Jessie's emotions and journey in the movie.
According to Stanton, Swift's connection to the character was clear from the beginning. He added that the song felt like a natural part of the Toy Story universe from the very first listen.
The director described the track as deeply connected to the story and its characters. He said it blended perfectly with the film's emotional themes.
Fans will have several versions of the single to choose from. Three different CD editions are being released. Each version contains a unique recording of the song.
One edition features the original version. Another includes an acoustic performance. A third offers a piano version of the track.
The release is especially important because it marks Swift's first new music since her hugely successful album The Life of a Showgirl, which arrived in October 2025.
That album broke records and topped charts around the world. Since then, fans have eagerly waited for details about her next musical project.
Earlier this year, Swift also released a video for her song Elizabeth Taylor. The video used archive footage to celebrate the life and legacy of the famous Hollywood star.
Now attention is turning to Toy Story 5, one of the most anticipated animated films of the year.
The movie is set to reach theaters worldwide on June 19. The latest trailer shows familiar characters Buzz Lightyear and Woody facing a modern challenge.
This time, the toys must compete with new technology for children's attention. A tablet called Lilypad appears as a major new rival in the story.
The film explores how toys fit into a world filled with screens and digital entertainment. The theme has already sparked strong interest among longtime fans of the franchise.
With a new movie, a fresh soundtrack, and an original song from one of the world's biggest music stars, excitement around Toy Story 5 continues to grow.
As the release date approaches, fans of both Taylor Swift and Toy Story will be watching closely to see how I Knew It, I Knew You becomes part of the next chapter in the beloved animated series.
