Cher Son Claims Financial Support Suddenly Ended
Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman has claimed that his famous mother stopped giving him regular financial support several years ago. The allegation appeared in new court filings connected to his ongoing divorce case with his estranged wife, Marieangela King.
According to legal documents filed on May 5 in the Superior Court of Los Angeles, Allman requested a reduction in his spousal support payments. He argued that his current financial situation has become difficult because he no longer receives what he described as a “recurring gift income” from Cher.
Allman stated in the filing that the singer stopped sending him financial support in August 2021. He claimed his only steady income now comes from a trust connected to his late father, Gregg Allman.
The filing stated that Allman receives about $10,000 per month from the trust. After taxes, his monthly income reportedly drops to around $6,790.
At the same time, Allman said he is required to pay King $6,500 each month in spousal support following their separation. His legal team has now asked the court to reduce those payments to $1,651 per month.
A hearing connected to the request is scheduled for July 17.
Lawyers representing Cher and Allman did not publicly comment on the matter after the filing became public.
The latest legal dispute adds to a difficult period for the family. In recent years, Cher has repeatedly sought court intervention over concerns related to her son’s health, finances, and personal struggles.
Last month, a judge denied Cher’s request for an emergency conservatorship that would have placed a court-appointed manager in charge of Allman’s finances. The request came while Allman was reportedly staying at a psychiatric facility in New Hampshire and facing criminal charges.
Cher’s legal effort happened shortly before her son was expected to receive another quarterly payment from his father’s trust.
The singer first filed for conservatorship in 2023. At the time, she argued that Allman urgently needed protection due to serious mental health and substance abuse problems.
Cher claimed she feared her son would struggle to manage his finances safely on his own.
However, Cher and Allman later reached a private agreement in 2024. That settlement ended her earlier attempt to gain control over his trust payments.
The legal battle returned again this year when Cher filed a second petition. In court documents, she reportedly argued that Allman failed to follow through on promises to hire a business manager and improve his financial situation.
She also claimed that his life had again become unstable because of ongoing personal struggles.
The court filing described Allman as “gravely disabled” and referenced recent arrests in New Hampshire. Authorities accused him of making criminal threats at a school and later breaking into a woman’s home.
Despite those claims, the court denied Cher’s second conservatorship request.
The ongoing court disputes have drawn major public attention because of the family’s celebrity status and long history in the music industry.
Cher remains one of the most famous entertainers in the world. She built a decades-long career as a singer, actress, and television personality. Gregg Allman was also widely known as a founding member of The Allman Brothers Band.
Their son, Elijah Blue Allman, has also worked in music over the years but has often stayed out of the public spotlight compared to his parents.
Now, the latest Cher Son Financial Support dispute places the family back into public legal battles involving money, health concerns, and personal relationships.
The court is expected to review Allman’s request for lower support payments during the July hearing.
